Kings Dominion

Taft Broadcasting’s second park was in the works before Kings Island opened. Located north of Richmond along I95, land was cheap, it was close to major population areas, and so Kings Dominion opened in 1975. A near-carbon copy of its slightly older sibling, it was a rousing success…so much so that opening weekend crowds clogged all roads around it, forcing the gates to be closed early that first morning. Let’s take a quick trip around the beautiful park nestled in the Virginia woods.
